AI Risk Assessment
Risk framework to govern any future AI capabilities in Header Specter.
Last updated: March 20, 2026
1. Current Scope
Header Specter currently operates without production AI decisioning. This assessment records baseline controls and launch gates for any future AI feature work.
2. Baseline Risk Categories
- Security: prompt injection, output manipulation, unauthorized endpoint use.
- Privacy: accidental disclosure of sensitive browsing or account data.
- Reliability: provider outages and degraded user experience.
- Compliance: incomplete disclosures or missing user transparency.
3. Mandatory Mitigations Before AI Launch
- Formal threat model and documented trust boundaries.
- Schema-validated input/output contracts and deterministic fallback behavior.
- Rate-limit and abuse controls equivalent to other protected APIs.
- Audit logging for AI-request lifecycle and failure paths.
- Updated legal pages for AI data processing and third-party providers.
4. Human Oversight Principle
Any future AI outputs must remain advisory. Final user-impacting decisions must stay under explicit human control.
5. Review Cadence
- Review on every AI feature proposal before implementation.
- Review before public launch and after each material model/provider change.
- Immediate review after any AI-related security or compliance incident.
